Application:
Disinfection of the effluent coming from sewage plant serving a population equivalent of 1,600 in accordance with the European Bathing Water Directive. In the course of a grant program of the Bavarian State Government and the Bavarian Environment Agency a USO 3 was installed at the plant.
In addition to achieving absolute disinfection levels, the USO 3 lead to an improvement of the overall performance of the sewage plant.  COD, Ammonia, and Phosphate were all lowered by 30 – 60%. This result was achieved by feeding back a partial amount of the
USO 3 effluent to the aeration section of the sewage plant.
Variable throughput operation of the USO 3 showcased the ease of use and adaptability of the technology.

Spain - Valencia
Application:
Disinfection of the effluent of a sewage plant in accordance with the European Bathing Water Directive. In the course of a grant program in Spain, the engineering company DAM installed a unit for the treatment of 50m³/h of varying water qualities after the secondary treatment.
Variable throughput operation and the ability to handle varying influent water qualities, showcased the ease of use and adaptability of the USO 3  technology.
